Rosita Rebelde: Alberta’s Rebel Rose of Burlesque

Meet Rosita Rebelde

Rosita Rebelde’s journey into the enchanting world of burlesque is woven from the vibrant threads of her musical upbringing. Growing up in a household pulsating with music, singing, and dancing, she forged a profound connection to the rhythmic heartbeat of the arts. While receiving technical training in Latin and Jazz dance styles, Rosita’s true passion lies in the spontaneity of moving her body, allowing the music to guide her every step.

Hailing from Mohkinstsis Territory (Calgary, AB, Canada), Rosita Rebelde proudly identifies as a queer, Latinx burlesque artist.

In 2016, she rekindled her love for burlesque as a creative outlet. Embracing the art form, she immersed herself in classes with Burlesque Burn, a local school of burlesque, refining her dance skills and mastering the essentials of burlesque performance.

Like a rose, this seasoned performer is equal parts beautiful, delicate, tough, and thorny.

Rosita’s artistic evolution has birthed a unique style, making her an integral presence in the vibrant tapestry of the Calgary burlesque community.

Rosita is also a founder/producer of Odditease Collective, a Calgary-based burlesque/cabaret troupe.
